The Link Building Paradox

If you want your website to get a better ranking in search engines, the best thing to do is to have a link building campaign to get more quality links to your site.

In the Google Webmaster Guidelines, it says that you only have to have quality site content and, over time, people will start noticing and visiting your site, ranking it better in search engines. This is however in the best interest of the search engine and not yours. But if you just started your website and you still don’t have any links despite having great content, you need to begin getting links so that people will be aware of your site.

This is where the link building paradox comes in. When you have a top ranking website, its chances of gaining a higher ranking are greater since people find your site relevant. It basically says that the rich gets richer. At the same time, when you have a low ranking site or a site that doesn’t even appear on the search results, obviously people won’t notice it and it won’t have a chance to be linked. As a result, the poor gets poorer.

To resolve this problem, its either you hire a link building company to do the linking for you or you do it yourself. And in doing either ways, you are promoting your website.

In order to promote your site, you can refer to these two:

Write a press release. You can either hire a writer or write it on your own. An interesting press release about your website will attract people into linking to your site, earning more traffic and sales. It is also advisable to update your press releases each time there is a new product or innovation done in your site.

Write articles. You can write articles to get the word out about your site. To obtain more traffic, you can post articles on several sites and get more site link backs. You can also turn articles into videos, posting it to video streaming sites.
